From our Green Make-Over contest held over December 2010, Green Sentral identified the winners who were excited to begin their green journey.
We gathered the winners - Ling Ling, Jane, Badz and Hafiz at The Eco-Paradise outlet at The Gardens Mall recently, and briefed them on their green mission. They were tasked to check out the treatment offered to see if their "green" experience is effective.

The Experience
So why were we interested in Eco Paradise? We wanted to see if there was a spa that provides relaxing treatments which would reduce discards and do not pile on more chemicals into our body. Apparently, Eco Paradise has a unique Anti-Oxidant Therapy that originated from Japan. After a short introduction to the benefits of the enzyme infused materials, the group eagerly changed into their Yukata (a japanese styled costume) to lie on the hot beds in the group therapy rooms. Like most other spas, the ambience is relaxing with natural decor and dimly lit setting. What's missing was the scent of fragrance or essential oils, which we were told was intentional. During the treatment and in the spa areas, we were actually breathing in the anti-oxidant enriched air that helps reduce the active oxidation within the body - a process that causes cell degradation and leads to various diseases.
But the hot bed only one of the many products with the enzyme infused material. The enzyme can also be found in personal use items such as mugs, socks, shoe insoles, cushions, futons or in home use items like pails, water filters, tiles

The Verdict
What I could remember best was the delicious enzyme drink that was so refreshing after the treatment. I never expected to doze off but I did - as soon as I closed my eyes, and despite the heat. Truth be told, I think I even snored. I was in a dreamless sleep for only 20 minutes on the hot bed but it felt as if I had slept longer. And that night, back home on my own bed, I had one of the best sleep in a long time. Well, how did the rest feel? Here's what the some members of the group reported after their experience:
HAFIZ: The experience was totally amazing as I was not only got to enjoy the 'Sauna' but at the same time knowing that I involved in something that helps to save our environment. It was something new to me where all this while I only knew about SPA that use a lot of chemicals that may harm the environment. The feeling was great.I felt totally fresh. I guess there were a lot of toxic in my body that time, that was why I sweat a lot..haha.I didn't feel tired and the most important, I had a good sleep that night.I would definitely recommend this SPA to my friends and those who wanna stay healthy and at the same time keep the environment healthy too.

LING LING: It was my first experience to try such spa. At first when i stepped into the heated room, I was thinking that it was uncomfortably too hot. But then after a while, when I am kind of used to the temperature, I found it to be just nice and cozy. I was able to take a short nap and relax in there, while letting my body to detox. After the spa, I did feel more refreshed and energetic. And yesterday i had a really good sleep. I really feel to be healthier but I think to have more obvious effect i would have to take up the therapy continuously. The videos we watched after the spa therapy that many claimed that it was helpful in treating cancers very much impressed me, convincing me more that this is a good way, not to mention a natural way too, of keeping us a healthy life. I would like to visit there another time if possible and will surely recommend to my friends and family.
